YouTube to MP4 converter

MP4 keeps the picture and sound together. Riplet checks MP4 codecs so the finished file is broadly playable, including in Finder and common media players.

720p, 1080p or 4K?

720p is available to everyone and usually suits a phone. Supporters can choose 1080p for a sharper larger-screen picture or 4K when the source actually contains 4K detail.

Illustrative one-hour sizes are 0.7–1.4 GB at 720p, 1.4–2.7 GB at 1080p and 5.4–11.3 GB at 4K. Actual sizes depend heavily on codec, motion, frame rate and source bitrate.

Playback compatibility

For MP4 downloads, Riplet converts incompatible video or audio codecs to H.264 and AAC. A full re-encode may take longer than a simple stream merge.
