YouTube to M4A (AAC)
Choose M4A (AAC) in Riplet to download the original AAC audio stream when a supported video offers one. Riplet saves that stream without converting it to another lossy audio format.
Choose M4A in RipletWhen should I choose M4A?
Choose M4A if your player or editor accepts AAC audio and you want to avoid a second lossy conversion. Choose MP3 if a device or app specifically requires MP3. A higher MP3 bitrate cannot restore detail missing from the YouTube source.
What does “Original AAC” mean?
Riplet keeps the source AAC bitrate and quality. It does not upscale the audio. Available bitrates vary by video; many sources are around 128 kbps. If a video has no AAC audio stream, Riplet will ask you to try MP3 instead.
